Whether it’s a simple salmon sandwich, salmon patties or a topper for a salad, when it comes to eating seafood in our modern world, mercury content is a huge concern. The good news is that the folks at Safe Catch are on top of it.
Safe Catch buys 100% sustainably wild-caught seafood from fishermen and tests the mercury levels in EVERY SINGLE FISH! They only purchase the fish that pass their own strict standards. About 1 out of every 4 fish are rejected because they do not meet Safe Catch’s standards. In fact, their mercury limit for Safe Catch Wild Pacific Pink Salmon is twenty-five times (25x) lower than the FDA mercury action limit.
What else is unique about Safe Catch?
They hand-fillet and hand-pack premium raw sashimi-grade wild salmon steaks to retain vital omega-3 oils and nutrients and then slow cook them to perfection.
They never add any fillers or additives.
Safe Catch Wild Pacific Pink Salmon is officially recognized by the American Pregnancy Association for their strict mercury limits, making them a trusted choice for expecting mothers and families.
About Safe Catch:
Sean Wittenberg, Safe Catch co-founder and trained scientist, was determined to find a solution to the high levels of mercury in fish after his mother developed mercury poisoning from daily tuna consumption. He put together a team of researchers and scientists and together they designed an unprecedented mercury testing technology. He brought his invention to national agencies, whose leaders were awed by its capabilities, but were unable to implement a government testing program due largely to pushback within the seafood industry itself. He then approached industry leaders, believing someone would jump at the chance to provide a safer product to their customers. This too failed as major players in the industry were deeply invested in continuing the status quo and claimed that customers do not consider mercury levels a priority. Although Sean never intended to open a fish manufacturing company, his desire to bring safe food to American’s plates made it a necessity. Thus, Safe Catch was born!
