About Hearth & Homestead:

Lily Wilmoth, founder of Hearth & Homestead, started the business in 2016 after the birth of her first child. She began to pay closer attention to the ingredients in skincare products during her pregnancy when she suffered from dry skin, rashes, and itching. Dissatisfied with the harmful toxins, chemicals, and preservatives listed on store-bought product labels, she began reading about skincare remedies used by our ancestors. In the beginning stages, she was making 100% natural soaps with herbs from her garden. Then she branched out to design a hand-rendered grass-fed tallow balm that her family handles from start to finish on their Virginia regenerative homestead. Soon, she added other organic products for the entire family. All of Hearth & Homestead’s products are synthetic-free, without emulsifiers or preservatives. In lieu of these harmful substances, Lily creates anhydrous/oil-based products that are shelf-stable and safe to use without any additives. Lily proudly promises that “If I wouldn't put it on my family’s skin, I won't put it in any of our skincare products.”
