This hot chocolate is crafted using organic cacao from the Dominican Republic and Peru, and organic cane sugar from Paraguay, all grown by small farmer co-ops. When farmers organize into co-ops they gain crucial market access, run their business democratically, and decide together how to invest in their community. Since 2002, we've partnered with CONACADO co-op, in Dominica Republic. They were founded in 1988 to empower small-scale cacao farmers facing major market challenges and low prices. The co-op, now over 9,200 members, continues to find new markets to gain better prices for its members. By enjoying this hot chocolate, you're supporting these small farmers and their communities.
