Our favorite steak that has both tenderness and a depth of flavor that is very satisfying. When we prepare these steaks we prefer salt and pepper only which allows the nutrients/flavor to be truly enjoyed. We cook our Ribeyes the same as our New York Strip Steaks: We have cooked these steaks many ways and our preference is to roll the steak in salt and freshly ground pepper and then sear each side of the steak in a hot skillet until browned, about 1 minute per side. When each side is browned we then place them into a preheated glass Pyrex dish in the oven set at 275 degrees for 12 to 18 minutes or until the inside temperature reaches the desired level (127 degrees for medium rare). These steaks are best cooked rare to medium. After the steaks are cooked to satisfaction we let them rest (set on a plate and cover with tinfoil) prior to serving for 8-10 minutes to allow the meat to relax. After they have rested you will notice that the steaks will be bathing in their juices, which we then pour back over the steaks to get all the nutrients. Cooking with this method always delivers juicy, flavorful, tender steak dinners and is simple!.....no burning the steaks or making jerky on the BBQ!
These steaks are individually wrapped and usually weight between 1/2 to 3/4 lb. Our family (two adults and two young kids) usually eats 2 steaks per meal. If we have friends over we add an additional steak per individual.
