When we source a new product, such as organic peanuts, we’re looking for small, sustainable farms that deliver a clean, consistent product at the very best price. And we always demand the highest standards of food safety.

Since they are actually legumes, peanuts are higher in protein than other nuts. Peanuts contain oleic acid, the healthful fat found in olive oil and emphasized in the heart-healthy Mediterranean diet. They also provide good amounts of vitamin E, niacin, folate and manganese. New research also shows may be as rich in antioxidants as many fruits.

A word of caution: Peanuts crops, in general, are susceptible to mold that can produce aflatoxin. So it’s very important to know where your peanuts are grown. These peanuts may be sourced from the U.S. or Mexico.

These peanuts can be Spanish or Virginia and can sometimes vary due to crop available and are considered a runner variety.
