Our cut and sifted hibiscus is a beautiful, ruby red part of the hibiscus flower that has a tart, floral flavor. It makes a lovely dark red, caffeine-free herbal tea, and can be added to baked goods, desserts, salads, and jams. It is also used as a beauty product, food coloring, and aromatic potpourri. Hibiscus is rich in flavonoids, which are plant metabolites with antioxidant effects. Hibiscus tea can help lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels due to its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. For tea, pour 1 c boiling water over 1 tsp hibiscus, cover, and steep 5-7 mins. Drink and enjoy!
