Detroit Dark Red Beet Seeds

Dating back to 1892, this beet is the star performer for its wonderful root. Detroit Dark Red is cold hardy and seeds can germinate and grow in soil temperatures as low as 40 degrees. These mid-sized (up to 3 inches) roots are tender and sweet with a smooth, round shape and fine-grained texture. Beets are a cool-weather crop, direct sown in fall or as soon as soil can be worked in spring. Harvest roots when desired size.
