Far beyond free-range and access to the outdoors, our regenerative flock is rotated to new pastures daily. This is crucial for maintaining a healthy flock and encouraging natural behaviors like scratching, foraging, and dust bathing. Rotational flocks allow grasses to recover, prevent runoff, and maintain plant and insect diversity. 

The chickens at Greener Pastures spend their entire life on pasture at the 400 acre farm in Texas. We manage all processing, which means our birds only travel 500 yards to be processed, whereas most chickens will travel hundreds of miles in a stressful, high concentration environment. Reducing stress has proven to improve meat quality. We ensure there is sufficient time to handle birds compassionately, and never put speed of the operation before animal welfare.

The breeds used include Ross 308’s, Sasso Ruby Reds, Pioneers, and Hubbard Redbros. We practice slower growth and raise our birds for 50-60 days before they’re ready to harvest.
