Buttermilk Powder

Traditionally, buttermilk refers to the delicious, creamy, fermented liquid left over from churning butter—but today, most commercially available buttermilk is no longer made traditionally. Instead, producers add the bacteria that would occur naturally in traditional buttermilk to pasteurized, homogenized milk. 

Our buttermilk powder is different, though—it’s made the old-fashioned way, by churning sweet cream into sweet cream butter and collecting the leftover buttermilk, then drying it into a powder which reconstitutes beautifully into a delicious, creamy liquid.

No preservatives, alkali, neutralizing agents, or other chemicals are added to our buttermilk—ever. Its beautiful creamy white color is a mark of its quality (overheated products often look brown or yellow), and its unique flavor makes it perfect for prepared mixes, frozen desserts, and baked goods.
