Black eye peas also known as Cowpeas are sustainably grown in the Sacramento Valley of Northern California. These all natural, non GMO, culinary staple are great not only for your New Year's Day good luck meal but, also go great with a slow cooked ham shank or add to a three bean soup. They get their name, from the black dot on the pea, that looks like an eye.
