Pure organic steam-distilled essential oil of Populs balsamifera buds wildcrafted in Canada.

Used by Native Americans to treat pain, deep wounds, and respiratory congestion, this is one of the oils commonly known as Balm of Gilead. High in the anti-inflammatory compound alpha-bisabolol.

The scent is soft and sweet, balsamic, with a touch of fresh green woods, and it adds depth and lasting power to other more aromatic oils. It blends incredibly well with many other essential oils, but in particular it softens the high notes of evergreens and florals. Mixed with oils like Hinoki Wood Fir, Spruce, Lavender, Ylang Ylang, Cedarwood, Copaiba Balsam, Frankincense, and others, it seems to be the catalyst that creates a blend that is more appealing than any of the separate ingredients. It is ideal for use in perfumes or skin care products, and is perfect for diffusing at night for restful sleep.
