Zante currants are dried berries of small, sweet, seedless grape cultivar, Black Corinth Grape. Our sun-dried Organic Zante Currants are very small and intensely flavored.

Zante currant is one of the oldest known raisins, first cultivated in ancient Greece on the Ionian Island of Zakynthos or "Zante," the English translation.

Containing Vitamin C, iron and calcium and packed with flavor, Zante currants are terrific in baked goods. In the United Kingdom, they are often used in scones, currant buns, Christmas cake, Christmas pudding and mincemeat. They are also a perfect ingredient for other baked goods, granolaS, and yogurt.

Zante currants not related to black, red or white currants, which are berries of shrubs in the Ribes genus.
