Wool Pellets, Moisture Retention Soil Amendment

In an effort to find alternatives to synthetic fertilizers, innovators have discovered that wool pellets, (compressed sheep’s wool) can serve as a sustainable, high nitrogen, 100% natural, slow-release fertilizer and soil amendment.

Wool & Earth Wool Pellets are made from raw agricultural wool waste – the sheep fleece that are too short and coarse for use in knitting. Simply mulch these pellets into your garden or tree plots to keep your plants fertilized and hydrated longer. They hold 3x their weight in water, are naturally high in nitrogen, and take 6 months to fully break down – providing a steady supply of nutrients and significantly increasing yields in plants like tomatoes.

Wool pellets also contain calcium, magnesium, iron, sulfur, and just the right amounts of other micro nutrients. They offer a complete organic solution for soil health.

Why you’ll love them:

• Enhances Soil Porosity, Aeration, and Root Health

• Biodegradable

• Natural Deterrent for Slugs and Snails

About Wool & Earth:

Wool & Earth products come from the good folks at Cinder Brae Farm & Fiber, a 40-acre farm with pastures and forests of pine and oak trees. The owners’ son talked them into sheep herding and with the help of local sheep farmers, families and friends, they now have a successful, sustainable farm that sells wool products and sharpens shearing tools. Cinder Brae Farm is honored to be a good steward of the land that was homesteaded years ago by their great-grandfather. They employ local people, support other local farms and businesses, and teach others about sheep and the benefits of wool and farm life. On their pastures, you’ll find Soay, Merino, Blackbelly Barbados, and Hampshire/Suffolk sheep, who are very well loved. The farm’s owners find that life in the company of such amazing animals is one of their greatest enjoyments.
