Grass Fed Skin’s Sun Solace Shield is a tallow-based sun protection formula crafted with organic botanicals, and non-nano zinc oxide for nourishing and broad-spectrum protection during peak UV hours. Non-nano zinc-oxide is widely considered the healthiest and safest sunscreen option because it contains large particles (>100 nanometers) of the mineral zinc-oxide. These larger particles sit on top of the skin without penetrating it or absorbing into the bloodstream. This creates a mineral barrier on the skin that reflects both UVA and UVB rays away from the body. 

Non-nano zinc-oxide is biodegradable and does not harm marine life or coral reefs, unlike many chemical UV filters found in sunscreen. It is also non-irritating and non-endocrine disrupting, so it is safe for babies and people with sensitive skin or skin conditions like rosacea or eczema.

While the non-nano zinc-oxide works as a barrier on top of the skin, grass-fed-and-finished beef tallow, mango butter, beeswax and cold-pressed coconut oil absorb into the skin to nourish and moisturize as rosemary leaf extract provides natural antioxidants.
