Think of the cheesy pasta possibilities as the natural umami flavor of nutritional yeast meets a very special blend of Italian herbs and spices.

Foods Alive Nutritional Yeast adds a natural, non-dairy cheesiness to food that is perfect for vegans and lactose intolerant people.

Sprinkle it in food bowls and rice bowls, make Italian seasoned “cheese” popcorn, or better yet, make a vegan cheese sauce to spoon over steamed veggie's! Its unami-like flavor is bursting with nutrition. Many nutritional yeast brands “fortify” theirs with synthetic B vitamins. Foods Alive nutritional yeast, however, is pure and unfortified, containing only naturally occurring B vitamins. Unfortified nutritional yeast also contains all 9 amino-acids, making it an excellent source of complete protein. Plus it has naturally occurring minerals like zinc, selenium, manganese, and molybdenum. Foods Alive nutritional yeast is grown on a substrate of unsulfured beet molasses and corn sugar.

About Foods Alive:

Foods Alive is a true family business. Michael and Ellen Moor co-founded the business with their son Matt and his wife Tammy. In the early days, Michael and Ellen’s other children Jake and Libby helped out. Even grandma was helping out by flipping the crackers at 8pm to give her son and Ellen some free time. Talk about starting small, huh? In 1999 they began producing around 30 bags per batch of raw organic, gluten-free, vegan, and kosher golden flax crackers using two Excalibur dehydrators. They bought a handful more of the Excalibur dehydrators every year to bump up production to about 250+ bags per batch by 2004. Then they got real serious! In 2005 they purchased a commercial dehydrator that brought production levels up to 900+ bags per batch! Soon they bought a cold press to press their own oils. Then it’s all history from there. Foods Alive can now be found on the shelves in health food stores all across the country. Foods Alive is committed to crafting truly healthy foods that are produced with the least impact on the environment.
