Garlic is softneck variety.

Garlic is a hardy perennial that looks similar to onion except that the bulb is segmented into cloves. While containing essential vitamins and phytochemicals, garlic also has a unique flavor which continues to be a popular and healthy means of enhancing taste and accentuating flavor for a myriad of dishes. 

Garlic does not need to be refrigerated for short periods of time.  This organic garlic will start to sprout if left out for more than a few weeks.  Refrigeration will slow that considerably but it will still eventually sprout after several months.
