Catalina’s Coffee is grown on coffee farms in the Nicaraguan Highlands.  It is shipped to Waldport, Oregon, where we roast and bag it.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003e\r\n\tOur coffee is purchased from a green bean coffee broker who carries the “organically grown” certificate and buys directly from coffee farms in the Nicaraguan Highlands.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cul\u003e\r\n\t\u003cli\u003e\r\n\t\tOur coffee is shade grown and hand picked.\u003c\/li\u003e\r\n\t\u003cli\u003e\r\n\t\tOur coffee is shade grown at an altitude of 3,300 feet.\u003c\/li\u003e\r\n\t\u003cli\u003e\r\n\t\tThere are no pesticides, fungicides, or herbicides used in the growth of our coffee beans, ultimately making them “organically grown”.\u003c\/li\u003e\r\n\t\u003cli\u003e\r\n\t\tMade from certified organic coffee beans\u003c\/li\u003e\r\n\t\u003cli\u003e\r\n\t\tOur beans are from a single area of Nicaragua. Our beans are not mixed with any other coffee beans from different areas.\u003c\/li\u003e\r\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003e\r\n\tCoffee quality is judged by a process called cupping, which is an external process of a non-biased nature held to worldwide standards. Our coffee has scored well. Some aspects judged are: fragrance (dry beans), aroma (hot water infused beans), sweetness, acidity, body, uniformity, and balance.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003e\r\n\tCatalina’s medium roast has excellent flavored, good aroma, mild acidity, good body, uniformity, and a bright finish.
