Our Organic Persimmons come from a family-owned farm nestled in California's Central Valley. Such beautiful dried fruits as these are rare. The farm is both a Certified Organic fruit grower and Certified Organic processor, and the family has “discovered unique methods to protect organic grown and dried fruit from pests without any preservatives.” These high quality Organic Dried Persimmons are tart and full-flavored.

Dried persimmons make a delicious addition to cookies, breads, granola, yogurt, trail mix, or cooked cereals. Try them out in this Persimmons In Cinnamon & Ginger Tea Recipe:

• 3 pieces Organic Dried Persimmons*
• 1 piece cinnamon stick/bark ~ about 3” long
• 1 TBSP fresh ginger, sliced
• 3 cups water
• 1/8 cup Organic Cane Sugar*
• Optional: Organic Pinenuts*

Boil water, sugar, cinnamon and ginger for 3-5 minutes. Add dried persimmons, boil for 1-2 minutes. Turn off heat and let steep for 1-2 hours. Remove persimmons, slice into several pieces. Set aside. In individual serving bowls, add few pieces of the sliced persimmon and top it up with the sweet liquid. Garnish with pine nuts. Serve hot or cold.
